Every year, Croatia produces remarkable young people — gifted singers, scientists, engineers, and artists — whose potential far exceeds the resources available to them. The Histrion Foundation exists to close that gap, one person at a time.
You may have heard of Roko Blažević. At 19, he represented Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest, captivating audiences across Europe. What fewer people know is that when he was accepted to the Los Angeles College of Music, the scholarship he earned only covered part of the cost. The Histrion Foundation helped make the rest possible. Today, Roko is studying Vocal Performance in Los Angeles — and on May 21st, 2026, he will host our Annual Gala at the Perch Rooftop Garden in Downtown LA, giving back to the very community that believed in him.
That is the Histrion story. We find talent. We remove the barriers. And we watch what happens next.
This year's gala features something truly rare — an exclusive Croatian wine tasting personally led by Consul General Renee Pea of the Consulate General of Croatia in Los Angeles. This is not your typical wine tasting. Guided by a distinguished diplomat with deep roots in Croatian culture, guests will be taken on a journey through Croatia's rich and often undiscovered winemaking heritage — its ancient varietals, its storied coastal regions, and the traditions passed down through generations. It is an experience you will not find anywhere else in Los Angeles.
Croatia has one of the oldest winemaking traditions in the world, yet remains one of Europe's best kept secrets. That changes on May 21st.
The evening takes place in the spirit of Croatian Heritage Month — a time when Los Angeles celebrates Croatian culture and community at its finest — on the rooftop of one of Downtown LA's most iconic venues. But at its heart, this is a Histrion Foundation event, driven by one purpose — and every dollar raised goes directly toward the next Roko, whoever and wherever they may be.

ABOUT THE EVENT. Join us for a special evening featuring Renee Pea, Consul General of Croatia in Los Angeles, as our special guest — personally guiding guests through an exclusive Croatian wine tasting experience. The event will be hosted by Roko Blažević, the Croatian pop singer and Eurovision representative, joined by special guest Sanya Mateyas — a Croatian-American singer, actress, and songwriter born in Zagreb who has called Los Angeles home since 1999. A versatile and accomplished performer, Sanya has appeared in Disney's Holes, The King of Queens, and Days of Our Lives, led her own LA-based rock band, and performed as a singer with the multi-platinum Grammy-awarded Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Together, Roko and Sanya promise one of the most memorable musical moments of the evening.
Education can transform a young person's life. All profits from this event will support talented youth in Croatia by funding scholarships for university education in science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. Zaklada Histrion, our sister foundation formed in Croatia, exists solely to support and provide financial assistance for gifted students.
GENERAL ADMISSION TICKET. $150 per person — your ticket is your donation. Includes a full buffet and guided Croatian wine tasting. This is a tax deductible contribution to Histrion Foundation programs.
VIP TICKET. $250 per person — includes everything in General Admission plus a curated gift box featuring a collection of premium, gourmet products from Croatia — you will not be disappointed! This is a tax deductible contribution to Histrion Foundation programs.
TICKETS/DONATIONS. Tickets for the event can be purchased through the Givebutter platform where, if you are not able to attend the event in person, you can still support the cause by making a donation or by placing a silent auction bid. SILENT AUCTION. This year's silent auction features a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Trained at the Culinary Institute of America, the Tokyo Sushi Academy, and Le Cordon Bleu in Lima, Tomica brings a remarkable world of flavors to every table.
